Cape Winelands Mountain Bike Tour
Option 2

Day 1 Friday

• 8am Arrival at Cape Town International airport.
• Transfer to Boschendal cottages for check in – coffee and refreshments.
• Bicycle assembly and set up in preparation for ride. Mechanic will be on hand to assist where necessary.
• MTB ride: There are 3 marked routes to suit all levels of riders incorporating well-maintained single track, mountainside jeep track and some farm roads. We will tailor make the ride according to the group. Approximate ride time 2 hours.
• Lunch – Rupert and Rothschild Wine Estate
  Five course fine dining and wine -pairing experience at the iconic Rupert and Rothschild wine estate, tasting wines from France, Australia, Argentina and meals prepared by an internationally acclaimed and award-winning chef.
• Late afternoon wine tasting and cellar visit at Boschendal
• Dinner – Personalised Steak braai. A communal steak braai will be prepared and enjoyed together at the accommodation, featuring organic Black Angus beef reared on the estate.

Day 2: Saturday

• Continental Breakfast served at the cottages.
• MTB Ride – Prepare for approximately 5 hours of riding. We will be riding the Jonkershoek valley which is known as the birth place of mountain biking in South Africa, the return route will follow sections of the Cape-Epic route and include Bartinnet Skyfall via the Banhoek Conservancy.
• Lunch at Haute Cabriere – transport from accommodation to Franshoek for a unique underground cellar experience at the foot of the Franshoek pass.
• Dinner at The Werf Restaurant on Boschendal farm.
  Farm to table dining in an exquisitely refurbished wine cellar. Situated in the beautifully revamped original cellar of the Manor house, the focus of The Werf restaurant is on presenting contemporary farm to table dining using the best available local, seasonal and ethically sourced ingredients. This is offered in an eclectic environment of décor and cooking spaces where the kitchen comes out of the shadows and comes alive inside the restaurant.

Day 3 – Sunday

• Continental Breakfast served at the cottages
• Morning ride – 3-hour ride in Paarl Mountain reserve with views of Table Mountain on a clear day. The route will finish by descending onto Fairview Wine Estate
• Brunch at The Goat Shed, Fairview followed by a leisurely 10km ride back to Boschendal
• 1h00 Check out cottages and pack up and prepare bikes for transport
• Lunch at Anura Wine Farm between Paarl and Stellenbosch at the foot of the Simonsberg mountain. We will enjoy lunch at the Lily Pad restaurant and try a platter of cheese and meats from the estate’s Forest Hill Cheesery and 12 Pigs charcuterie: also, Anura’s own microbrewery with on-tap ales and lagers, brewed in the gleaming copper pot stills visible in the tap room, compete with the estate’s award-winning wines by the glass or bottle at cellar-door prices
• After lunch we will transport you back to Cape Town international airport.
